Our Canadian healthcare investment journey began with the acquisition of Drugs.ca, a domain name that reflects our long-term vision for transforming the Canadian pharmacy and healthcare experience through technology.
We are building a platform that will connect prescription management, pharmacist support, convenient access to medication, and telemedicine. These future services are launching in 2027 and are not yet available.
We believe the future of pharmacy will be increasingly digital-first, patient-centric, and seamlessly connected to other healthcare services. Our vision is to build a modern online pharmacy platform that gives patients greater control over their prescription management through a state-of-the-art mobile application and web portal.
Through this platform, we envision patients being able to manage their prescriptions conveniently online, access fast medication delivery, competitive medication pricing, personalized medication reviews and professional pharmacy advice, all through a simple and intuitive digital experience.
An important component of our strategy is the potential integration of telemedicine with our digital pharmacy platform. In communities where patients face difficulty accessing physicians or where there are physician shortages, we believe technology can help connect patients with healthcare professionals more conveniently. Where clinically appropriate and permitted by applicable regulations, this could allow patients to access medical consultations and then move efficiently through the prescription and medication-management process.
Our long-term vision is to make access to healthcare and medications as convenient as possible—from consultation to prescription to pharmacy fulfillment and delivery—through a connected digital ecosystem.
Our strategy is not limited to an online pharmacy.
We plan to establish strategically located central-fill and fulfillment pharmacy facilities in major Canadian urban centres, creating the infrastructure necessary to efficiently process prescriptions and support rapid delivery at scale.
Over time, we also intend to acquire established pharmacies in suburban, smaller-city and rural communities. These acquisitions would allow us to combine the strengths of existing community pharmacies—including trusted pharmacist relationships, local knowledge and established patient bases—with our digital technology, centralized infrastructure and operational capabilities.
The objective is to create an integrated network in which our digital platform, central-fill infrastructure and community pharmacies work together.
In major urban markets, centralized fulfillment could support efficient prescription processing and rapid delivery. In suburban and rural markets, acquired community pharmacies could provide a local healthcare presence while becoming connected to the broader digital platform.
Ultimately, our vision is to build a technology-enabled Canadian pharmacy network that combines technology, pharmacy expertise, physical infrastructure and acquisitions to create a differentiated healthcare platform in Canada.
While we are still in the early stages of our Canadian healthcare journey, we have a long-term ambition to build and scale rapidly through a combination of organic growth, technology development and strategic acquisitions.
Our goal is not simply to build another online pharmacy. We aim to create a seamless healthcare and medication-access platform that connects patients with the services they need and makes prescription management dramatically more convenient—from the first digital interaction to receiving their medication at their doorstep.
The Drugs.ca platform and mobile application are in development and can be explored closer to the 2027 launch date.
